Version 0.8 of Jashan Chittesh's Unity Multiplayer TRaceON now "officially" introduces power-ups. With R you can make your own wall disappear, with T slow time down heavily ("bullet time"... not quite, but along those lines), with F the TRaceONCycle produces clouds of smoke that stop others seeing your wall (trick: switch to view 1 or 2, then you can see underneath the fog). With X you can shoot walls away, and with the space bar you jump.

At the moment all power-ups are permanently unlocked – that will not be the case in later versions, but for trying things out it is easier this way. You can also collect the power-ups, though.

Apart from that there were various smaller bug fixes and usability improvements. The most important change is certainly that in multiplayer sessions all players now have to click Play before things start – that used to be pretty annoying in larger sessions, when somebody always pressed Play immediately after every session and then, for instance, new players could not get into the teams at all...

This week I will test this version with a few other people and fix bugs where needed. The next version (V0.9) will then contain the various arenas. Quite a lot will be newly developed there, and quite a lot of what exists will be reworked, so it will probably take a while. But then it will not be far to V1.0 either. That will bring the tutorial, player persistence and the remaining polish. Then there will be a month of "beta testing", and then my first game is finished and I will get started on the second one ;-)

But first, V0.8 (you can also download a standalone version of the game, by the way, at the bottom of the page that has the web player on it):
